General
Description
The heavy duty Jetex
PAA-Loader 150 engine is named after the famous Pan American Airways
international freeflight contest of years past. Up to 3 larger Jetex 150 pellets
fit in this longer chamber all-steel model, and ideal for use with augmenter
tube.
Unlike the Jetex 50,
the PAA-Loader 150 uses a set of five thin spring-steel leaf springs in a "roll-on" clip
mechanism to secure the nozzle cap.
The PAA-Loader motor
clip is also quite different from others in the series, being of spring steel, and snapping
neatly over the nozzle bulb and into the clip-spring assembly.
Note that the
Jetmaster is from time to time referred to as the "Jetmaster 150," perhaps due to its
increased thrust. Since this creates confusion, we have classified the Jetmaster with
the other 100-size Jetex engines.)
Historical
Notes
The PAA-Loader 150
was distributed by Aristo-Craft Miniatures in the US. This fine engine was immensely
popular during the era of the Pan Am international freeflight classes, where it was flown
in a special class of its own.
Remarks
Note that this engine
is sometimes erroneously called the "Pay-Loader."
