Jetex 200

An advantage of the Jetex 200 motor was the higher thrust produced by the second charge due to preheating, a characteristic of multi-pellet motors, that was quickly put to use in contests. Where power runs were timed it was common practice to let the first charge heat the motor then launch once the second charge had ignited.

However, there was a marked delay between the first and second charge which could be eradicated by making a "wick sandwich" or scraping the contact surfaces. Thrust could be as high as 3oz and duration over 30 seconds, giving a performance similar to small free flight electric motors.
